This course teaches the students different ideas pertaining to designing of garments, fabrication, techniques pertaining to garment designing, usage of computers in garment designing. Garment technology, as the name implies is a discipline where you learn about the different technical aspects of the production of garments. The course is designed for those who have never had any exposure to industry level sewing but want to make a career in this field. You look after the technical aspect of the production of garments. A fashion technologist will design the new dresses, but it is a garment technologist who decides if the design can actually be created.
Scope
Candidates, who have completed their Diploma course in Garment Technology, can initially join as trainees in big garment manufacturing firms and they can slowly acquire higher positions based on their performance. With a Diploma in Garment Technology students can find employment as Brand Managers, Pattern Makers, Design Product Development, Designers, Fashion Writers, Fashion Coordinator, and much more
